Picton
(South Island, New Zealand)
Picton is situated at the top of the South Island, and is the South Island
port used by the Inter-Island ferry. The Picton settlment was laid out on
the site of Qaitohi pa in 1948. It's current population is around 4000.
Auckland
(North Island, New Zealand)
Auckland is one of New Zealand's largest metropoliatan areas, by both size
and population. It is the NZ's greatest commercial and industrial centre
and a major point of entry for overseas visitors. There are 14 extint volcanoes
on around Auckland from which views are very good. Its current population
is around 900,000.
Queenstown
(South Island, New Zealand)
Probably the premier holiday resort in the South Island, Queenstown is a
favourity with both locals and international visitors. It is located on
the shore of Lake Wakatipu, and surrounded by mountains which are popular
for skiing. The population is around 5000.
