Peak (Milford Sound, New Zealand)
The road into Milford is perhaps New Zealand's most beautiful. The Sound
itself is 15km long and is surrounded by mountain cliffs. A very popular
tourist attraction.
Mt
Taranaki (Stratford, New Zealand)
Mt Taranaki is a domant volcano rising 2518m. It is possible to trek to
the summit and back in one day. There are also three roads giving access
to the mountain.
Abel
Tasman National Park (Motueka, New Zealand)
Abel Tasman covers an area of more than 22000ha of coastal islands, beaches,
bush, scrubland and rocky high country. It also features Harwoods Hole,
New Zealand's deepest vertical cave at 178m.

Wairakei Thermal Energy Plant (Taupo, New Zealand)
At Wairakei, the pipes and steam indicate the location of this active geothermal
area. Wells are sunk to tap the activity and the steam is seperated into
hot water and dry steam. Pipes with U-bends take the steam to the nearby
power station.
Franz
Josef Glacier (West Coast, South Island, New Zealand)
Franz Josef Glacier and its neighbour Fox Glacier are unique in descending
to such low altitudes of 300m in temperate climates. The Glacier has lengthened
occasionally, but generally it has been receding since its discovery.
Craters
of the Moon (Taupo, New Zealand)
Set amid pine trees, this is an active thermal area with steaming craters
and bubbling mud. A great attraction if you are in the Taupo area.
