THE FRIENDLY OCTOPUS

The octopus greeted his friends with a smile. He was happy to see them and played for a while, but when it was time to leave he said,
"Leave-me, oh, my!"

He stuck out his tenticles to shake hands goodbye. The frog jumped right up to give it a try. First he hopped low, then he hopped high. He just couldn't get his jumping quite right. Instead he cried,
"Ribet! I'll just say goodnight!"

The dolphin swam up, but he couldn't grab hold. He shook and he shivered,
"Your tentacle's cold! I'm diving back under where it's nice and hot. I'll come back tomorrow to this very spot."

The Seagull flew in; he was flapping his wings. He couldn't stay still to shake one of those things. The Octopus waited for him to calm down. He rolled his big eyes and he gave him a frown.

Then the Octopus gathered his friends by his side. He told them, "Don't worry, I'll give you a ride."

They did as he asked without making a sound. They turned into an Octopus merry-go-round.
