As Emma headed into the cave it got darker and darker. She wished she had bought a torch on her journey. Her grip tightened on Twinkles as she realised she was a little scared.

Emma could hear a strange growling coming from deep within the cave. What was it? she thought. A bear, a wolf?

Suddenly the cave opened, and light streamed in from a hole in the roof. It showed two paths up ahead. To the left would be a tight squeeze, but there looked to be another hole in the roof further on, as light was visible down the passage.

To the right, was very dark, but a much bigger tunnel. She could hear water dripping from the right, and she thought, I am very thirsty.

Which way should Emma go? To the left into the light, or to the right and follow the sound of water?
